Portfolio: Design for web
We have worked with Bytes for a number of years and in that time had created a series of Microsites for specific Vendor relationships. We had also taken on responsibility for updating their main site, however the time arrived when we all felt that there would be a better user experience if the main site was redesigned to incorporate all the information in one place. Bytes also requested we take control of hosting the website to facilitate fast and cost effective updates.
The website is some 350 pages in total and covers the two main arms of the business - Software Services and Document Solutions. We also manage their e-mail marketing through a system that is integrated with their CRM tool and we regularly design, build and deliver e-marketing campaigns to various market sectors. The statistics generated by the recipient interaction with the e-shots are fed back into the CRM tool and link to the website for Seminar registrations.
Part of the brief was to develop a new visual approach for not just the website but printed material too. We came up with the concept of ‘boxes, packages or containers’. A box would feature in any photographic imagery along side people interacting with the box. Bytes have many relationships with other organisations that have their own branding/photographic style and colour scheme. Introducing the box enabled us to apply their Partners branding to that box, but with the box sitting in the Bytes ‘environment’. This has helped avoid any branding conflicts and illustrates joint entities working in harmony.
Other features introduced to the website include a fun page with a Pacman style game, a comprehensive search facility, downloads, registration forms, animated text and we operate Google Analytics across the site for maximum optimisation.
